Developed a textile backing for Motorola's bendable cell phone - showcased at Lenovo Techworld 2023
ID Project Lead
The project aimed at creating a textile backing for Motorola’s bendable phone. Our team successfully developed a knit textile specifically tailored for this application, along with an innovative assembly process to ensure a seamless attachment to the device's back.
The project was so promising that we were able to accelerate our timeline, enabling the product to debut at Lenovo Techworld 2023. For this landmark event, we produced nine "looks-like, works-like" models that Motorola could utilize in their promotional materials.
The development stages included:
Material Development: Creating a suitable textile that complements the bendable technology.
CAD Tooling Design: Designing the necessary tools for precise production.
Prototyping: Building functional prototypes to test and refine the textile application.
Process Design and Assembly: Streamlining the assembly process to ensure efficiency and quality.
This collaborative effort illustrates our commitment to pushing the boundaries of industrial design while meeting the demands of cutting-edge technology.
