Designed a soft, cushion like, cover for the Daylight Computer Co. Tablet
Industrial design & Process Developer
We partnered to create a protective case that resembles a soft sweater for their tablet. The project involved developing two distinct thicknesses of knit textile and designing an efficient assembly process tailored for their initial batch of tablets. Our comprehensive approach encompassed concept generation, material sourcing, assembly process development, and tooling, which included CAD design, procurement, and testing. We validated our concepts through trial builds and designed experiments, meticulously recording and presenting our findings throughout the process.
One of the project's highlights was the innovative shift from traditional plastic shells to felt for case construction. We successfully produced nearly sixty units for early adopters and marketing initiatives before transitioning the project to a manufacturer.
